Round 02 Registration
The final round of the Biology & Bioinformatics Olympiad 3.0 is held in person at the University of Chittagong, a full day of examination, presentation and workshop for the candidates who came through Round 1.
Why the final round is held in person
An online MCQ can measure recall. It cannot watch you defend a poster, think on your feet, or meet the person who becomes your research collaborator. Round 2 exists for the things a browser cannot host.
Prizes for every segment
Awards for the top performers in the examination, the poster presentation, the photography contest and the instant speech.
Crest, Internship, Book, & Certificate for winners
Every participant receives a certificate, valid for your CV and scholarship applications. Winners also take home a crest and a book, and standout performers are considered for an offline internship with BioPC, the route several of our current team took.
Hands-on workshop
A practical bioinformatics workshop run on the day, using the tools working researchers actually use.
Lunch & coffee included
Lunch and coffee are provided for the full day. No queueing, no wandering off campus to find food.
Collaboration & network
Meet students from over 250 institutions, plus faculty and researchers. Research partnerships start in rooms like this one.
Communication skills
Presenting your work and speaking without a script are skills no exam teaches. Both are on the programme.
The segments on the day
Alongside the MCQ examination, the programme includes three competitive segments you may take part in.
Poster Presentation
Present your work as a poster and defend it, either research-based (your own data or study) or idea-based (a proposal or concept).
Photography Contest
A contest for the scientific eye, capturing biology, laboratory life and the natural world.
Instant Speech
Speak on a topic given on the spot. No script, no preparation, just how well you think and communicate under pressure.

Seats are first come, first served. The auditorium holds 350 people and registration closes the moment it is full, which may well be before the deadline. If you intend to come, register now rather than later.
The exact date within the 2nd week of October will be fixed for the convenience of the majority and announced on our Facebook page and in the WhatsApp group.
Who can register
Round 2 is open to candidates who qualified in Round 1. Your registration button appears automatically on your result page once your result is verified, so there is nothing to apply for separately, and no form to fill in twice.
- Open the result checker and enter the email you registered with.
- If you qualified, the Register for Round 2 Examination button appears on your result.
- Your name, university and Round 1 score carry over automatically. You only add a few remaining details to complete your registration.

Round 1 was written from home. Round 2 brings everyone into one hall at the University of Chittagong, a full day of examination, presentation and workshop built around the people who made it this far.

Registration fee, and where it goes
The Olympiad is run by a small team, not a sponsor's budget. The fee covers the day itself: hall and equipment, printed certificates and crests, workshop materials, lunch and coffee for every attendee, and the take-home book. Nothing in it is profit.
Only ৳100 more opens three additional competitive segments, each with its own prize and certificate. If you are travelling to Chittagong for the day anyway, it is the better value.
